You booked your venue, picked your date, and probably celebrated with a little “we’re really doing this!” moment.
Then came the next questions.
Who should we book next? How much should we spend on flowers? What time should the ceremony start? And how do all these separate vendors become one wedding that actually flows?
You don’t need to have everything figured out before hiring a wedding planner. Having your venue booked gives us a starting point—and there’s still plenty I can help you navigate.
When should you hire a planner after booking your venue?
If you want help choosing vendors, managing your budget, or making design decisions, reach out after securing your venue. Bringing a planner into those conversations gives you guidance before you commit to more contracts and expenses.
If you enjoy planning and want to make most of the arrangements yourself, you can still book wedding management early. You’ll have someone reserved to bring the details together as the wedding approaches.
The right time depends on what you want help with—not how much of your checklist you’ve completed.
You’ve booked the venue, but need help with what comes next
A venue sets the stage, but it doesn’t answer every planning question.
You may still be comparing photographers, sorting through catering proposals, or wondering whether your Pinterest ideas fit your budget and space.
This is where planning support can make decisions feel more manageable. As your Tulsa wedding planner, I help you consider vendors based on your budget, personality, and design ideas. We talk through your options and what matters most to you, so you can move forward with a clearer plan.
You’ve booked several vendors, but planning is taking over your free time
You don’t have to start from scratch to bring in help.
Maybe you’ve booked your venue and photographer, but the remaining decisions keep getting pushed to next weekend. Maybe you have plenty of ideas and need someone to help narrow them down.
Partial planning can be a good fit when you’ve made progress but want guidance through the remaining decisions. We look at what’s already in place, identify what still needs attention, and work through the next steps together.
You’ve planned the wedding, but need someone to run it
You might love choosing every detail. That doesn’t mean you want to answer vendor calls while getting your hair done.
Wedding management is for couples who want to make their own plans and have professional support bringing them together.
At Tulsa Weddings & Design, that process begins approximately four to eight weeks before your wedding. We review the details, confirm vendor arrangements, build the wedding-day timeline, and prepare for the handoff.
Book ahead to reserve your date, even though the hands-on coordination begins closer to the wedding.
What if your venue already has a coordinator?
Ask what their role includes. Responsibilities vary by venue, and some focus primarily on the property, venue staff, and venue-provided services.
Find out who will communicate with your outside vendors, manage your full timeline, cue your ceremony, and handle changes throughout the day. Understanding those responsibilities helps you see where additional support would be useful.
You don’t need a perfect plan to reach out
You can come to me with a booked venue, a few screenshots, and a list of questions.
