The Forecast Said Tornadoes — the Day Had Other Plans

Some wedding days ask more of a couple than others. Elizabeth and Ryan's forecast was one of those: tornadoes and softball-sized hail, called for the very day they were set to marry outdoors at Blustem Manor.

So the weather watch became my job. In the days leading up to the wedding, I tracked the radar, talked through the what-ifs with their vendor team, and kept a plan ready for every version of the day. Elizabeth and Ryan knew someone was watching the sky. It just was not going to be them.

And the storms never came. The ceremony went ahead outside, under open sky, with the fountain running and the green lawns of Blustem Manor doing what they do best. The photos tell that part of the story on their own: a couple who look like the forecast was the last thing on their minds. Because for them, it was.

The curve ball nobody forecast: the day had one more surprise in it. Partway through the celebration, a pop-up shower rolled in — the kind that never appears on any radar. Because the what-if planning was already done, we adjusted and carried on. Guests remember the dancing. Nobody had to remember a scramble.
